Minimum Security: The Thrilling Story of Revolutionaries Saving the World from Ecocidal Maniacs by jpo

Usually radical attempts to ape mainstream culture go awry.  We usually just don’t have enough of us paying attention to basic culture in order to set up anything strictly for fun.

Minimum Security however appears to have dodged that bullet, and has been posting green-anarchist leaning comics since 2007.  The comics manage to be clever, entertaining, and rarely preachy.  Addressing issues like the perils of working with the liberals, the hypocrisy of most “green” business, and the futility of most mainstream protest, Stephanie McMillan has been keeping it real while keeping it entertaining.

A Plea for Opposition to Capitalism by jpo

This video does a pretty neat job of making David Harvey‘s lecture for the Royal Society for the Arts a bit easier to understand.  In addition to giving a pretty fair picture of the difficult nature of explaining the current economic crisis, it also includes an argument for joining anti-capitalist organizations.  ANY anti-capitalist organization.  While Harvey himself is a Marxist, his argument is that a diversity of tactics is required, so any anti-capitalist organization is a good one.

Anyway, enough from us, enjoy the video!
